4. Application Set-up

This section will cover the procedure for setting up Live Streaming with Wowza Streaming Engine. 7. Authentication for Live Streaming

In this part of the training, students will learn how to create an application for Live Streaming that requires Authentication from the Live Encoder. This limits who can stream to your Streaming Server. In addition to creating your Live Streaming application for authentication on publishing, you will learn how to add users with Live Streaming privileges using Wowza Streaming Engine Manager.

8. Encoding Using H.264, VP9, VP8, AAC, and Vorbis Codecs

Learn how to encode Flash H.264 content for real-time streaming and adaptive streaming for delivery with Wowza Streaming Engine. You will learn how to encode Flash H.264 videos using Sorenson Squeeze. Students will be guided in the process for creating compression settings and adjusting presets in the encoder. Your instructor will teach you how to create great looking videos for streaming server delivery. 9. Authoring Flash On-Demand Streaming Videos and Live Streaming Videos in Web pages

10. Authoring HTML5 Compatible Web Pages for On-demand Streaming

One of the most important items about streaming today is delivering your videos properly for HTML5 compatible browsers. 12. Wowza Transcoder AddOn Set-up

Today, many users implementing Wowza Streaming Engine need a way to delivery Live Streams with multiple data rates for Adaptive Streaming. Wowza Transcoder allows you to do this. This module in this class will teach you how to set up and configure your Wowza Streaming Engine for Live Trancoding server-side. You’ll learn about the option to convert from MPEG-4 or MPEG-2 to a format such as H.264, which is supported with the server. You’ll also learn how to encode from H.264 and to delivery several Live streams with various data rates in H.264. This section of the training will also teach you how to adjust the various encoding settings with your Wowza encoding templates.

13. Live Origin and Live Stream Repeater Set-up

Learn how to set up an Origin Server and Live Stream Repeater with Wowza Streaming Engine. Our instructor will teach you how to easily configure your Origin and Edge servers to take advantage of the same Live Stream. This allows you to only send one Live stream to the Wowza Streaming Engine.

14. nDVR Set-up

With Wowza you can provide Lives Streams and allow your viewers to be able control playback of the streams in a DVR-like manner. Therefore, users can watch a portion of a Live Stream even if part of the stream has already played. This training module will show attendees how to configure nDVR set-up for this purpose. This gives you DVR capabilities with Wowza Streaming Engine and records and caches streams. There’s a need to have live streaming events where viewers can watch a webcast and see video of the presenter as well as their PowerPoint slides. Sonic Foundry’s Mediasite tool provides this capability and many other features. With this streaming delivery option users can track webcast viewers, moderate questions, poll the audience, and even control who has access to view content. It’s a a great option for on-line teaching and training if you have a large budget. I’ll elaborate on more Mediasite features during my next blog post, so stay tuned.
