Implementing Multiple Wowza Servers with Startup Packages

Posted by Derrick on July 29, 2012 under Video Streaming and Compression | Comments are off for this article

Implementing multiple Wowza servers with Startup Packages is a great method for streaming to large scale audiences of 5,000 viewers or more.  You can use the Startup Packages when starting multiple instances of Wowza Media Server on Amazon EC2. What’s outstanding about doing this is you can easily scale up for large webcast audiences and then scale down after your events. This is a tremendous savings of money and time. Since many of the Wowza instances have a limitation on the number of concurrent connections they can support, you have to understand when you’ll need to expand your server pool.

You can learn how to utilize Startup Packages during our 1-Day Amazon EC2 Wowza Server Training. Contact Freeman Compression at 407.477.5837 for more information about the 1-Day Amazon EC2 Wowza Server Training or e-mail us at info@freemancompression.com. Individuals from any country can attend our On-line training classes.
