Mobile Manufacturers Should Check Out iPhone

Posted by Derrick on November 23, 2010 under Video Streaming and Compression | Be the First to Comment

Mobile manufacturers should check out iPhone. This should almost be a prerequisite for any company building a smartphone with streaming media capabilities. Many of the latest mobile devices can play streaming video but many displays provide unacceptable viewing quality. This must get better. Content providers want their videos to have a superior showing for all delivery options. For this to happen many smartphones have a to get better in terms of processor, screen, and playback options. Now even though some companies might not want to implement Apple’s iphone streaming technology, the playback experience cannot be denied. Therefore mobile manufacturers should check out the iPhone if for nothing more than seeing their competition.

Podcasting Simple Option for Delivering Videos

Posted by Derrick217 on November 20, 2010 under Video Streaming and Compression | Be the First to Comment

Podcasting is a simple option for delivering videos.  For organizations that need to deliver web video and video to the Video iPod, iPhone, and iPod Touch, Podcasting is a wise option to consider.  When you have a Podcast your videos will be available on both Mac, PC, and any device that can play Podcasts with iTunes.  Once your subscribers are connected to your Podcast they’ll automatically get your latest video updates based on their iTunes Preference settings.  Here’s what makes it easy once your Podcast is up and running.  To add a new video you only need to add the link to the video URL in a new blog post.  This is simplistic for those that have a workflow created to encode videos and then upload them directly to their server.

If you’d like to implement a Video Podcast or Audio Podcast for your organization give Freeman Compression Inc. a call at 407-477-5837 or E-mail us at info@freemancompression.com.  We can provide you with consulting services for the Podcast set-up then train you and your staff on how to use it.

Flowplayer Flash Player Great Choice for Streaming

Posted by Derrick on November 3, 2010 under Video Streaming and Compression | Be the First to Comment

Flowplayer Flash Player is a great choice for streaming.  This is another excellent option for those that want to deliver Live Streaming and On-demand in the Flash flavor.  If you want to create superior expeiences with Flash Streaming then Flowplayer is the way to do it. Flowplayer also has some wonderful  plug-ins that support the following:

  • iPad and iPhone
  • RTMP
  • Bandwidth Detection
  • Secure Streaming
  • YouTube
  • Captions
  • Analytics
  • Pseudostreaming
  • Embed
  • Viral Videos

Flowplayer supports even more options than what’s listed here. What I like about Flowplayer is it supports automatic detection of Live Streams.  So, if a stream is interrupted and disconnected it will automatically be detected again once the Live Stream starts again.  This will happen even without the user having to refresh the browser.  There’s no doubt that Flowplayer is a great choice for streaming.
